2-Day Class Description
This class follows a regular routine and schedule giving a sense of security. They form a positive attitude about school and are able to separate from parents. Activities include math, reading, and writing readiness, Bible stories, calendar, weather, out door play, art, music, and Learning Center. Special activities are field trips, parties and holiday celebrations.

Teaching Format & Topics
Bible – Chapel time in class and as a school, Bible stories from both Old and New Testaments, Christian songs, prayers, and devotions which aid in creating an atmosphere for developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Language Arts – Recognition of alphabet letters and sounds, rhyming, reinforced by use of alphabet tubs and Show and Tell. Later in the year, children will learn to verbally spell and formulate the letters of their names.
Math – Exposure to mathematical concepts such as recognition of numbers 1-10, shapes, and patterns.
Science/Social Studies – Discovery and exploration of their world and the world around them i.e. animals, nature, customs, and cultures.
Art & Music – Children alternate between Free Art (child guided) and Directed Art (teacher guided) using various artistic mediums. Music is introduced into the program using a range of songs, rhymes, instruments and special programs.
Developing Gross & Fine Motor Skills – Assembling puzzles, coloring, cutting, scissor use (activities introduced later in the year), regular outdoor playtime which helps to develop/strengthen running, jumping, climbing and throwing a ball.

Pre-Kindergarten for 4-year-olds
Three Day Class - Monday, Wednesday, Friday

3 Day Class Description
Pre-Kindergarten is designed to offer children the academic and Biblical foundations needed to be successful learners, as well as becoming positive and independent to succeed socially in the classroom. We encourage the children to explore their environment and begin to cultivate their love of learning at an early age. Our time is balanced between free and directed time, group and individual time, indoor and outdoor, and quiet and actively noisy times. The children will become familiar with classroom schedules and procedures as a way of developing a comfort zone and sense of security.

Teaching Format & Topics
Bible – Chapel time in class and as a school, Bible stories from both Old and New Testaments, Christian songs, prayers, and devotions which aid in creating an atmosphere for developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Language Arts – The students are introduced to the letters of the alphabet using sign language, songs, and puppets. Pre-reading activities such as phonemic awareness, rhyming, sequencing and following directions will be incorporated into daily activities. To encourage comprehension and self-expression, students will listen to stories and create stories of their own through out the school year. An important part of the 3 Day schedule is “Show and Tell” which helps students become proficient and comfortable with public speaking; students will present an item which begins with the letter currently being introduced.
Math- Students are exposed to number recognition 1-20, rote counting to 30 counting by 10’s. They will be introduced to concepts such as patterning, sequencing, greater or less than, geometric shapes, addition, subtraction and multiplication using concrete objects and manipulatives.
Science – The students are given opportunities for exploration of the world around them such as plants, animals, and weather. They engage in basic experiments such as color mixing, exploration of light and sound developing an understanding of gravity, properties of water, weight and measurement.
Art & Music – Students are given opportunities to explore artistic expression in a multitude of mediums. Students create a page for each letter as it is introduced. Parents are encouraged to place the pages in a binder to create a special “3 Day Pre-K Alphabet Book”. Musical expression includes songs, finger plays, musical instruments, rhythm sticks, and special music programs for holidays. The students learn a song and Bible verse for each of the “Fruits of the Spirit”.
Developing Gross & Fine Motor Skills – Running, skipping, galloping, balancing and climbing are incorporated into daily routines. Puzzles, manipulatives for building, tearing and cutting activities are also built into the curriculum. This class works on “perfect pencil pinching” which includes the use of pencil grips. Homework encouraging the writing of each letter is given.
This class prepares students for a successful Kindergarten experience by providing age appropriate readiness activities in a structured group setting, as well as providing many opportunities for creative expression and individual choice activities. The three-day class curriculum is based on the “Fruits of the Spirit” – Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.
Five Day Class - Monday through Friday

5 Day Class Description
The 5 Day Pre-Kindergarten program encourages children to learn through observation, imitation, experimentation, practice, and interaction with other children and teachers. We focus on the spiritual, emotional, physical, social, and academic growth of our students. This class provides rich readiness skills in a structured group setting as well as many opportunities for creative expression and individual choice activities. One year of preschool experience is recommended.

Language Arts – Listening and following directions, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, songs, stories, rhymes to help reinforce language and practice handwriting. Introduction to word families and basic sight words which are then used to begin sentence formation and beginning reading.
Math – Number recognition 1-20, simple addition and subtraction, counting by rote to 30, counting by 10’s. Introduced to geometric shapes, patterning, sequencing, money (identify coins by size and markings), measurements, comparing and ordering height, weight, size, and length. Introduction to telling time to the hour and half hour from a standard clock.
Science – Conducting simple science experiments. Exploring our world through different thematic units (weather, plants, animals, etc.)
Art & Music – Children express their personalities through the use of many different art mediums. Singing is an important part of our day. Children come together to share their musical talent with their families several times a year.
Developing Gross & Fine Motor Skills – Different activities are implemented in our daily curriculum to help the children develop their gross and fine motor skills. Running, skipping, painting, cutting, assembling puzzles, and using manipulatives are part of our daily routine.

Fantastic Friday Program for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds

Times: 9:00–11:30 AM or 12:30–3:00 PM
Fantastic Friday Class Description
This is an enrichment class designed to enhance our regular preschool class experience. Creative young minds are helped to grow and thrive through children’s literature, Bible stories, art, drama, music, cooking, movement, and exploration of different languages and cultures. Each week will center around a certain children’s book and theme. A list of all books used will be provided to parents in advance.

There will be no registration fee for those students already enrolled in one of our preschool classes or in our childcare. Students coming only for this one day class will pay a $25 non-refundable registration fee.
Due to holiday and breaks, some months will have two or three Friday classes. Tuition is based on the total number of classes offered for the year but divided into monthly payments.
Special arrangements can be made for students who need coverage over the lunch hour for an extra $10 fee. Lunch is not included. Student is responsible for brining a cold lunch.
